Jack Russell

Approximately 5 years old

Pretty little Posie, another unclaimed stray…same old story..

Posie’s little body was riddled with fleas, she had awful skin which required multiple and continued baths to shift the grime and soothe her inflamed skin.

A little terrier who was simply just surviving, displaying signs of severe anxiety, she didn’t move an inch from her bed for days.

Slowly, we started to see improvements but Posie would still avoid humans at any cost, if approached she would submit, shaking and freeze to the spot.

The lack of trust in humans was heartbreaking, slowly but surely we began seeing a tail wag here & there and before we knew it she was running around with glee when she saw us. Without realising it, she was letting go and allowing herself to trust.

Through it all Posie has never shown any aggression, she was also excellently behaved when we visited Brookfield vets and made us so super proud of her.

Posie still has a long way to go, it will likely be a very long time for her to fully trust and relax and we feel she will probably always have a nervous nature.

The time has arrived where we feel she would benefit from moving on to a possible foster home with a view to fully adopt her.

She would benefit from a terrier experienced home, a quiet environment without lots of visitors where she can relax without the worry of lots of comings and going’s.

Posie is really quite worried around other dogs so a pet free home would be best suited.

A very secure garden is essential.

A child free home will also be needed.

A kind person or two, with experience of nervous rescue dogs would be absolutely ideal, Posie needs  to learn to trust in her own time, at her pace and without pressure.

If you feel you have a suitable environment to help Posie flourish we would love to hear from you.
