A few words from his wonderful foster family…

‘Meet Teal  – the real deal!

Teal is an 18 week old boy,  three quarters Huntaway and one quarter Collie – very handsome and very clever. He knows some commands already including “Sit”, “Paw”, “Down”, “Stay”, “Touch”, “Wait”, “Fetch”. He was very brave at the vets this week where he had his first vaccination and flea/wormer medication, the treats may have helped too!

He therefore can’t be out and about or meet unvaccinated dogs for  6 weeks and needs lots of activities and stimulation at home. He loves to play with all toys but balls and tuggers are his favourites. Zoomies indoors and outdoors are abundant. He also likes playing with another dog and knows how to tease.

Teal is very food orientated which is helping with all training and house training in particular (work in progress).

Since he has been with us as foster parents, Teal sleeps well and is clean in his crate all night and often takes himself off there for a nap later in the day. He has been left in his crate once for 10 minutes and once for 20 minutes and has been fine but in the same room as another dog.

Teal is progressing really well in discovering a wide range of new experiences but can be a little unsure/excitable at times, he then barks, so we are working on this with lots of positive reinforcement and distractions. He is not too keen on getting in the car and doesn’t travel too well but hopefully this will improve with his confidence.

All in all Teal is such an amazing pup with oodles of potential and will be a great addition to a forever home where he can enjoy lots of training and activities to help develop into an amazing dog’.

We are looking for an experienced dog owner, someone with experience with his mix of breeds, he originates from working lines so will need plenty of mental and physical stimulation to ensure his happiness and welfare.

Any children in the home would need to be 8 years old+.
