We always say that we would love it if dogs could talk, but in Mia’s case we think we would all be horrified, the details of the trauma she has endured in just this past year would be heartbreaking to hear.

Mia has been passed from one awful environment to the next, over and over again.

When Mia arrived with us in September it was very clear that she had been the victim of terrible abuse, this was then confirmed by horrendous information we received. This soon turned into a police investigation…

Many of you that have been following Mia’s story will remember that as a result of her abuse, she had been left with brain damage.

Mia would endlessly chase and bite her own tail, resulting in amputation, she suffered obsessive behaviours one after the other, as soon as we managed to de-escalate one it was followed by another including water and vehicle obsessions, scratching herself raw to the point she had to wear double layered wrap around protective jumpers and buster/inflatable collars to protect her own body, Mia suffered mobility issues where she would drag her back legs behind her, fur loss and skin infections.

We have been constantly taking ‘three steps forward, two steps back’ but thankfully, we feel we are now finally fully on the road to recovery.

We are very hopeful that Mia is now in a position where we will continue to move forward.

We knew Mia’s recovery wouldn’t happen overnight, there’s been times where there was no light at the end of the tunnel but we are so proud of how she has fought on.

Mia will be needing;

🖤 An adult only home

🖤 Pet free environment

🖤 GSD experienced owner

Unfortunately due to previous negative life experiences and lack of responsible and correct socialisation, Mia is animal reactive so would need an environment without other animals.

With this in mind her new home would need to be quite specific to meet her needs.

Mia is fully muzzle trained.
