Sometimes we wish dogs could talk but then we meet beautiful souls like this gorgeous boy and we are quite glad they can’t as we aren’t sure we’d like to know what they have been through.
Arthur arrived unannounced at a property in Herefordshire, no collar or microchip to trace who is responsible for him. Arthur unsurprisingly remains unclaimed by an owner.
We got Arthur a vet check asap after he arrived with us as we were really concerned with the poor condition he was in, very underweight, awful skin and sores over his body along with multiple broken teeth. He also has an awful undershot lower jaw.
Arthur has been with us just over a week now and he’s like a different dog! He is no longer starving, exhausted and uncomfortable but a happy, sociable boy who feels loved and respected.
Arthur has been having regular meals with added supplements to help gradually build up his weight and promote healthy skin along with regular medicated baths.
Arthur has proven himself to be a total gent, he’s so well behaved, has taken everything in his stride and our hearts absolutely melt when he shows us his biggest (somewhat goofy) smile when we tell him what a good boy he is!
Another health check today, he’s had his vaccinations started, microchip implanted (so he’s now a law abiding citizen) and our lovely vet is pleased with the improvement with his skin.
Gained nearly 2kg in a week too!

We understand that Arthur could be a genuine stray who got himself lost many weeks or months ago but experience tells us that this young man sadly doesn’t have a dedicated loving family waiting to welcome him home! We are happy to be proven wrong though…
We have vowed to find Arthur a 5* forever home where he will receive nothing but love and happiness.
