Oh Burt, you are truly breaking our hearts!
Beautiful Burt has recently left the life he loved, he is lost and feeling very confused. Sadly, his elderly owner was unable to take care of him any longer and other family members just cannot give him the life he deserves although he has been very well cared for.
Burt is scared of his own shadow and will shake uncontrollably when he becomes particularly frightened. Each day there is a little progress and we just know there is a wonderful happy and loving dog deep down but he just needs to learn to trust and start enjoying life again within a patient, caring and kind home.
We are seeing little tail wags with recognition which is so wonderful to witness, he’s on quite a journey and we couldn’t be prouder of these little (huge) accomplishments.
Burt hasn’t lived around other dogs or cats, he has met another kind dog but was frightened of any contact, it is possible that he could live with another dog but they must be very calm and gentle around him.
Unfortunately Burt isn’t used to walking on a lead so he will need patience and time to learn to adapt to a ‘normal’ dog life.
We are looking for;
🐾 An adult only home-children would petrify him.
🐾 A quiet and calm environment.
🐾 An owner/owners who are willing to let Burt adapt to a new life in his own time, he can’t be rushed. Ideally, someone who has experience of owning a nervous dog/s.
We are sure that given time, Burt will become an incredibly loyal companion who will be 100% worth all the love and dedication.
